Black and White

Old Navy Tee, Old Navy Denim, Vans Sneakers

Hey guys! Today's look is pretty casual but I recently found this top in one of my drawers and had to wear it. This was one of my favorite tops last year and for some reason I forgot about it. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Memorial Day

Old Navy Cami and Capris, Kate Spade Wallet, Target Sandals

Nothing says spring/summer to me more than a fresh white shirt. This cami is the perfect summer top. Lightweight, white, and flowy. I love the detailing near the bottom as well. I paired this with some dark denim capris and basic sandals for an effortlessly casual look, but this could easily be dressed up as well with some wedges. Though my family and I just had a small bbq at home, I thought Memorial Day would be the perfect time to break out this top!

Summer Basics

A few days ago, I discovered the brand Everlane and fell in love. As you can tell by most of my outfits, I'm a sucker for good basics, which is what they're is all about. For the summer, I've been wanting to invest in some basic pieces, along with some trendier ones. I came up with some outfits using both, inspired by Everlane, and hopefully these will come to life on my blog!
For this one I decided to go with a more trendy bottom (high-waisted shorts), but used a basic white cami, leather sandals, and nude clutch to complete the look.
For this one, I went with a very on-trend floppy hat, and then decided to incorporate my favorite pattern (stripes), with some laid back Converse and a light denim jacket. Pretty much any neutral bottom (dark denim, black pants, or a black skirt) could go with this look as well.

What's on your summer wishlist?

Caligraphy Workshop - The New Old Fashioned

Last Friday, the lovely ladies at Femme and Fortune hosted a contest for a free spot at a caligraphy workshop hosted by The New Old Fashioned, and I fortunately won! I was able to attend the Friday night session. The workshop was taught by Lindsey Buck, who's caligraphy has been featured in Anthropologie catalogs, floor sets, and does caligraphy as a side job as well.

When I first arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a Free People/Anthropologie store. It was beautifully decorated. Here's some pictures of the food and setup.

After about half an hour of mingling and getting to talk to some lovely ladies, we started the lesson. We first were taught some basic lines and swirls, then started tracing the alphabet. After that we went into personalizing our own alphabet and were given free range with whatever colors and papers we wanted to you. I found that I picked up the skill rather quickly, and felt that because the workshop wasn't too big, it was much easier to learn and ask questions.

Overall, I enjoyed the workshop so much and I'm so happy I was able to attend. We were also able to leave with a bunch of envelopes and paper to practice our caligraphy at home, as well as a cute tote bag. Here's the finished product! I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

A Night Out

Top: Forever 21 / Denim: Old Navy / Flats: Urban Outfitters
Wallet: Old Navy / Rings: H&M

So I took these photos during the day (gotta have good lighting!), but I decided to show what I'd wear on a typical night out. I like to keep it simple, but a bit dressy at the same time. My go-to is usually some time of black top, dark denim, and black flats, with some gold jewelry. I find this look to be timeless and very flattering. I picked up this top at Forever 21 for only $10 and fell in love with the wrap detailing. One of my tips also is to bring a small wallet or small clutch with your ID, cash, and debit card, so that way you don't have to worry about a purse the whole night. I got this card holder at Old Navy and it reminded me so much of something I would see at Kate Spade for 10x the price. And of course, I had to top this look off with a classic red lip. Hope you all have a great weekend!

City Day

Top: Forever 21 / Pants: H&M / Sneakers: Vans / Sunglasses: H&M

So usually I'm not one to be super trendy with clothes, but I consider this top to be one of my more trendy pieces. Since I was walking around all day, I kept my shoes more casual and black to blend in with the pants. I also love this wall that I found today in the city.

Something Old + Something New

Tank: Old Navy / Jacket: Old Navy / Jeans: Old Navy / Flats: Old Navy

Hey guys. So as you couldn't tell... I finally did it and cut my hair. I was getting sick of my long hair, and with summer approaching, I felt a shorter do was in need. I'm in love with it and I forgot how easy it is to style shorter hair. Also, going alone with the "something old" of this post, I thought it would be fun to style an older piece of mine. This coral tank top I got at Old Navy about 4 years ago and I love it because I feel like it's something I could pull out of my closet in 4 more years and I could still wear it. I challenge you guys to go into your closet and wear a piece that you haven't worn in ages.

Play Ball

Tee: Forever 21 / Pants: H&M / Sneakers: Converse

On Sunday, I went to my first baseball game in quite some time. I'm not one to own sports gear, so of course I was cliche and wore a baseball t. I hunted down this shirt for about a month back in the fall and once I found it in stock, I snatched it up. There's something about baseball t's I absolutely love.

Some Changes

Hey guys! So recently I feel like I've just been so busy and unfortunately, neglecting my blog. I started this back in February when I was unemployed and needed something to occupy my time. I recently got a job a month ago, plus I work weekends, so that takes up most of my time. I definitely do not want to stop posting, as I've come to enjoy blogging a lot. I decided that three posts a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday was just too much for me to keep up with and I felt myself becoming stressed about it. I've decided on two a week for now, (I will be posting outfits on Tuesdays and Thursdays), and then on occasion, I'll do a third post on the weekend which would be beauty related, or just anything random I feel like talking about. I obviously want this to be more fashion focused, but I still want to incorporate other topics as well. I hope everyone had a good weekend! New outfit post should be up Tuesday!
